Manchester City are close to clinching the signing of Gai Assulin, dubbed the "new Lionel Messi", from Barcelona.

The 19-year-old Israeli is a highly-rated product of the Catalan club's academy but reports in the Spanish press say he has agreed terms on a four-year deal at Eastlands.
Midfielder Assulin, who won his only full international cap in 2008, was close to joining City in the summer but the move was derailed by a knee injury.
He visited Manchester last month where he underwent a medical, and City appear satisfied with the youngster's fitness.
Assulin, who has dual Spanish-Israeli citizenship and will not need a work permit, decided to leave the Camp Nou after failing to break into the first team.
The Sun reports Wes Brown's fears he may never break back in to the Manchester United first team following a furious row with Alex Ferguson on a pre-season tour.
Since the argument with his manager, the 30-year-old has played just twice and has not started a league game, with John O'Shea and Rafael Da Silva preferred in the right-back position.
Celtic will make a January move to sign Steven Taylor on loan from Newcastle, according to the Daily Mirror.
The defender looks set to leave St James' Park after failing to agree a new contract. He is currently sidelined with a shoulder injury.
Kevin McDonald is in the frame to succeed John Hughes as Hibernian manager, the Daily Mail claims.
The Scot missed out on the Aston Villa job despite a largely successful seven-game caretaker stint at the start of the season.
